You have just downloaded Resource Tweezer 1.0.2, from PK Industries. (The package may be called 1.0, to maintain link intergrity from other sites, we apologize for the confusion.) Resource Tweezer is a utility to allow you to extract any type of resource from a file or application. Resource Tweezer takes the extracted resources (in the form of ResEdit files), and places them in a folder entitled "xxx Tweezed". In this folder rests various other folders, such as PICTs, containing the resources of these types. These resources can then be quickly dropped in any REALbasic Project, used with Kalediscope Schemes, MacAMP skins, or used for other purposes. Resource Tweezer was made using REALbasic.

• Notes/Tips
-Extraction may be started in three ways. Clicking the 'Extract' button on Resource Tweezer's interface, pressing Apple-O on the keyboard, or dragging the file to be extracted on Resource Tweezer's interface box will all start extraction.
-Resource Tweezer can place extracted files anywhere. In its factory settings, it will automatically place the tweezed resources inside the same folder as the original item. It can alternately be set to ask where to place the resources each time it extracts. Just open Preferences with Resource Tweezer, and click "Ask Every Time".
-Resource Tweezer can extract all types of resources. In Preferences, The Default setting extracts Color Icons, Pictures, and Sounds. This can be changed to also extract Cursors, along with XCFNs and XCMDs, with the All setting. To extract other resources, click "New Set..." and name the set. Then, drop down the Custom section of Preferences with the disclosure triangle. The four letter resource code can be typed, and then added by clicking 'Add', but keep in mind this code is case-sensitive. The file entitled 'Resource Types and Descriptions' included in the Resource Tweezer package, contains a list of most known resource types and a brief description of each. A type can also be drag-and-dropped from the predefined list on the right to the custom list on the left. When finished, click the 'Done" button, and the new set will be saved.
-Sets can also be modified after creation. Clicking the "Modify Sets..." button will allow sets to be renamed or deleted. If a set is loaded (by the menu bar), its settings can be changed, and the changes will be saved automatically upon clicking "Done".
-To check for new versions of Resource Tweezer, open the "About Box". Make sure an internet connection is present, and click the "Check for new version..." button. If a newer version of Resource Tweezer has come out, a notice will show on screen, along with a link to it. PK Industries and Reuben Grinberg would like to thank Toby Rush for his HCTVP class.
-Resource Tweezer is to be used for legitimate purposes only. Please keep in mind that PICT, SND, and all other extracted resources are still copyrighted, and various laws apply. While resources may be used privately on individual computers, it may be illegal to use them for development of programs. Many resources may be used freely, but some, such as various XCMDs and XFCNs may be shareware. Please use the extracted resources responsibly. PK Industries can assume no liability for any misuse of extracted resources.
